BFT Nylon Rack in Oman | Module 4, 22 x 22 mm, 600 kg

The BFT nylon rack in Oman carries sliding gates up to 600 kg and is supplied in one metre lengths. This is BFT’s own CP section, module 4 at 22 x 22 mm, screwed to the gate through slotted holes. We hold it in Al Khuwair and our engineers fit it.

What arrives, and how many metres you need

One metre per unit. Measure the leaf, not the opening, because the rack runs the full length of the gate panel. A leaf that closes a four metre gap is longer than four metres.

BFT packs four one metre lengths into its Deimos and Ares sliding kits. That covers a small villa gate and nothing wider, which is why most compound gates in Muscat need more. Count the metres before the engineer arrives.

Nylon or steel

Two things decide it, and neither is price.

Plastic runs quieter than steel, and the slotted holes let you correct the height after the rack is already fixed. That suits lighter leaves and runs that sit in shade. Steel takes more weight and more heat.

Above 600 kg the choice is made for you. Our BFT Ares BT A1000 drives gates to 1,000 kg, well past what this rack will take, and that gate wants the steel CVZ rack instead. Under 600 kg either works. The Deimos BT A400 and Deimos BT A600 both sit inside it.

Module 4 is a gear standard rather than a BFT one. The same rack meshes with the Beninca BULL range, which runs an M4 Z18 pinion, so a Beninca BULL8M takes it too.

Fitting the BFT nylon rack

It fixes with ordinary or self tapping screws, so no welding is needed. Set each length so the pinion teeth clear the rack rather than bear on it, then run the gate by hand before you power it.

At every joint, lay a short offcut upside down across the two lengths and use it to set the spacing. That is how the tooth pitch stays correct across the seam, and a dropped seam is the commonest cause of a judder that appears at the same point in every cycle.

Common questions

Will plastic rack last in Omani sun?
BFT publishes no temperature or UV rating for it, so we will not claim one. On a gate that stands in afternoon sun we fit steel. On a shaded run, or a light leaf, plastic is fine and quieter.

My gate is close to 600 kg. Is that cutting it fine?
Yes. 600 kg is the ceiling, not a target. Sand in the track raises the load the rack actually sees, so a gate near the limit in clean conditions is over it by July. Go to steel.

Can I put one new length into an old run?
You can, if the rest is the same module and section. Bring the stripped piece to the counter in Al Khuwair and we will match it. Mixing modules is what chews a pinion.

How do I know which rack I already have?
Measure the square section. Ours is 22 x 22 mm in plastic and 30 x 12 mm in steel. If it is neither, photograph a tooth against a tape measure and send it on WhatsApp.
