Fitting the BFT CVZ steel rack in Oman

The supports bolt to the gate frame and the rack screws to them. That lets us set the height so the teeth clear the pinion by a millimetre or two. Lengths butt together with the tooth pitch carried across the joint. Get that wrong and the gate clicks at every join.

Common questions

How do I join lengths? Butt them end to end and keep the tooth pitch running through the joint. Use the last tooth of one length to space the first tooth of the next.

Does it come with the fixings? Yes. The screws and the mounting supports are in the box. You are buying a complete metre, not a bare bar.

Which motors does it fit? Anything with a module 4 pinion. That covers our BFT sliding range and the Beninca BULL motors.

Why is steel dearer than nylon? Load and life. Nylon is fine on a light residential gate and will not last on a heavy one. The extra per metre buys years.
