Both take a 4 metre leaf and both make 350 Nm. This one opens quicker and costs less to control. The BT version decelerates at each end and will run all day.
What else you need
The BFT ELI AC A40 in Oman ships as the motor. A foundation box with levers, a manual release and a control panel are separate lines. The box is cast into concrete before the gate is hung, so it goes first. BFT also sells a kit that includes the box, which is often the simpler way to order.
Installing the BFT ELI AC A40 in Oman
We set the box level under each hinge and cast it in. The motor drops in and the lever couples to the leaf. Then comes the cable, the panel and the clutch setting. An accessory takes the opening to 180 degrees where a leaf must fold flat.
Common questions
Is the faster one the better one? Not always. It opens in thirteen seconds instead of fourteen. But it stops dead rather than easing in, and it takes twenty cycles an hour rather than running continuously.
There is no limit switch as standard. Does it need one? The built in mechanical stops set the travel, so it works without. Adding the magnetic kit gives you repeatable positions in any weather.
What size hole does the box need? The BFT steel box measures 420 by 336 by 135 millimetres. Allow for concrete around it and for drainage below.
What is the XECARB crown? A composite gear BFT fits to the A40 models. It takes heavier gates and lasts longer than the older part.
