The BFT AQ5 is a one piece rectangular boom, 5 metres long, for MOOVI and GIOTTO barriers. It is an arm on its own, not a barrier. We hold the BFT AQ5 in Oman and our engineers fit and balance it on site.

Which boom fits your barrier
We stock all three BFT booms. The spring inside the head suits one arm length, so the boom has to match the barrier.

An over length boom will not balance, and the head will strain on every cycle. Note also that AQ is the rectangular family and AT is the round one. They use different mounting brackets, so you cannot swap between them without changing the bracket too.
What this is and is not
The BFT AQ5 in Oman is the arm alone. There is no cabinet, no motor and no control board in the box. If your barrier head is sound and only the arm is damaged, this is the part you need. If you are starting from nothing, you need a head as well. The head, the mounting kit and the boom are three separate BFT part numbers.
Fitting the BFT AQ5 in Oman
The boom bolts to the mounting bracket on top of the head. We then rebalance the spring, because a longer arm changes the load. We reset the limit positions afterwards. We check the arm drops level and stops square before handover.
Common questions
My barrier is rated 6 metres. Why is the boom 5? The rating is the widest the head can drive. BFT ships the 5 metre arm as standard and sells the 6 metre round one for the full span.
Can I fit this to a Moovi 30? No. That head takes a 3 metre arm and its spring suits that length. Use the AQ3.
Do I need a support leg? On a 5 metre arm across an open lane, usually yes. BFT makes a movable leg, plain or damped, and it takes the sag out of the far end.
Is the rubber cover profile included? No. The reflective tape comes in the box. BFT sizes the rubber edge profile per boom length and sells it separately.
