The BFT PHOBOS BT B40 is a 24 V irreversible ram operator. It takes swing leaves up to 4 m and 700 kg. It is one of the most compact operators BFT makes. This is the operator alone. We stock the BFT PHOBOS BT B40 Oman motor in Muscat and fit it across the Sultanate.
Why 3 m and 4 m are different promises
This motor takes leaves up to 4 m. It only locks itself reliably up to 3 m.
Past 3 m, BFT recommends adding an electric lock. The mechanical locking still works. But the extra length gives more leverage for someone to force the gate. The recommendation is for longer leaves, not every install.

Two board families fit this motor
BFT rates the PHOBOS BT B40 for either a THALIA BT A80 board or a ZARA BT A80 board. Both are the higher-power variant built for this motor’s draw. Our lighter swing operators use smaller boards instead.
THALIA gives a programming display and U-Link. ZARA is a simpler dip-switch panel for a straightforward single or double installation. Tell us which control style you want and we will supply the matching board.
Replacing an older PHOBOS
The PHOBOS BT B40 replaces the earlier PHOBOS BT A40. If you already have an A40, the rear mounting bracket can usually be reused. The front bracket needs an adapter kit, since the new motor’s mounting point sits differently. Tell us your existing model and we will confirm what is needed.
Common questions about the BFT PHOBOS BT B40 Oman motor
Does it come with the board and photocells?
No. This is the bare operator. The board, photocells, remotes and flashing light are quoted separately, and we will price the full set for your gate.
How compact is it really?
BFT markets it as one of the smallest 700 kg operators available, and it weighs about 5.2 kg. That matters on thick or oddly shaped pillars where a bulkier ram will not sit flush.
Is 30 cycles an hour enough for my gate?
For a villa or compound entrance, yes. A gate that opens more often than that in practice wants an intensive-rated motor instead.
My gate is under 700 kg. Do I need this one?
Only if the leaf is long. A 2.5 m, 700 kg leaf is better served by our ATHOS AC A25. This model earns its place on leaves closer to 4 m. The rest of our range sits in BFT swing gate motors.
