The LIFE OP3 UNI is a two-motor kit for swing gates, built in Italy by LIFE home integration. Leaf length decides this purchase. LIFE rates the OP3 at 800 kg on a 2 m leaf, and 400 kg at 3 m. We stock the LIFE OP3 UNI Oman kit in Muscat and fit it on villa and compound gates.
What the LIFE OP3 UNI Oman kit fits
Weight and length are not separate limits. Find the row that matches your leaf, then check the weight against it.
| Leaf length | Max leaf weight |
|---|---|
| 2.0 m | 800 kg |
| 2.5 m | 600 kg |
| 3.0 m | 400 kg |
Pillar depth matters just as much. The hinge should sit no more than 90 mm behind the pillar face for a 90° opening. At 120° that drops to 50 mm. Deeper pillars need a niche cut for the ram. Longer leaves take the LIFE OP5 UNI kit instead.

Installation
Our engineers set the rear bracket on the pillar and the front bracket on the leaf. The motors then wire back to the control unit. Opening and closing stops are set inside each ram by hand.
We pair the remotes, run the learning cycle to time the two leaves, then set force and obstacle sensitivity. The gate is tested on the photocells before handover.
Common questions about the LIFE OP3 UNI Oman kit
How much space do I need behind the hinge?
Ninety millimetres at most for a 90° opening. Measure from the pillar face back to the hinge centre. Deeper pillars need a niche so the ram clears on closing.
Do I still need gate stops in the ground?
No. The UNI version has adjustable stop plates inside the ram. That is what separates it from the standard OP3, which uses limit switches.
Can someone push the gate open when it is closed?
No. The drive is irreversible, so the leaf locks once the motor stops. A separate electric lock is not usually needed at this size.
Should I take the OP3 or the OP5?
Measure your leaf first. Anything over 3 m needs the OP5, even if the weight looks fine. Both sit in our LIFE swing gate motors range.
