What is in the BFT SP3500 gate motor kit
The kit holds the operator and its anchorage base, plus a fixing plate and four steel rack sections. It also carries self-aligning photocells, a flashing light with antenna and a push button. Two MITTO B RCB04 R1 four-channel remotes come with it.
Rack length is the thing to check. The rack runs the full length of the gate leaf, so a long industrial leaf needs extra sections. Send us your leaf width and we will price the balance.
Installing the BFT SP3500 gate motor
A three-phase feed must reach the gate post before we start. We set the base, level the operator, then fit the rack with a clearance gap above the pinion. Next we adjust the electromechanical limit switches and wire the photocells and flashing light. Finally we pair the remotes and run the gate through full cycles under load.
Common questions
Do I need a three-phase supply?
Yes. This machine will not run from a normal 240 V villa socket. Oman distributes three-phase at 415 V. Send us a photo of your distribution board and we will confirm what you have.
My gate is around 2000 kg. Should I buy this?
No. Fit the BFT ICARO SMART AC A2000 instead, which covers gates to 2000 kg. Buy the SP3500 only when the leaf genuinely exceeds that figure.
Is this the 230 V version?
No. This is the TRI 400 on 400 V three-phase. BFT also builds an SP3500 TRI 230 for 230 V three-phase networks. The two are not interchangeable, so check your supply first.
Will it cope with summer heat?
BFT rates the operator to 50 °C ambient. In an open yard we shade it, or position it away from the afternoon sun.
